your symptoms are mostly consistent with what we call a femoro patellar syndrome , where your knee cap has the tendency to rub on one aspect of the femoral groove ( the external part ) , increasing the pressure in that facet , could result in degeneration of that part of the patello femoral joint . Pressure is decreased by extending the knee , avoiding long sitting positions , and kneeling ... further exams need to be done to evaluate the causes of the little instability , and depending on the cause , treatment ranges from conservative ( pain , anti inflammatories ) , special knee cap braces or strapping , physiotherapy ( quadriceps strengthening programs ), and finally to surgery when it is trully indicated or when everything else fails
