This is most likely due to the fact that your needs are hitting each other while you are sleeping in the fetal position. if you do not have any other signs of abnormal bleeding or easy bruising elsewhere ( bleeding when you brush your teeth or excessive menstrual flow if you are female...) then the bruising around her knees should not be a cause of concern. If however this bruising is occurring frequently or in different locations then I think some screening blood tests to make sure that we are not dealing with a coagulation disorder is needed.
