What are the cures of headache that attacks me after i sleep for about 1:30hrs btwn 4:30PM till 6PM??
May 9, 2013

Dr. Zakia Dimassi Pediatrics
Headache can have many triggers. It could be the nap itself, since you have a rather long nap (1 and a 1/2 hours is long for a nap) that this is causing disturbance in the nighttime sleep. Solution: reduce your naps to a max of 30 min in order to have a good nighttime sleep.
Other triggers include: 1- poor sleep posture which produce neck and shoulder tension, thus culminating in headache, for this you need to get a special pillow to keep your neck aligned with trunk. 2- Sinus problems (allergies, like if you have always nasal congestion, blockage, sneezing, whitish secretions), causing snoring or sleep apnea (interruption in breathing during sleep) which deprives the brain from adequate oxygen, thus causing the brain blood vessel to dilate then constrict, and the headache occurs; bright light in the room; bruxism (when you involuntarily grind your teeth during sleep, this causes jaw joint and muscle tension, resulting in headache), and this requires a dentist consultation (the dentist can observe your teeth for evidence of grinding and prescribe you a special device to wear during sleep).
