Is there any efficient natural way to deal with ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder) without relying on medications (given their undesired side effects)?
Feb 20, 2013

Dr. Ivana Dabaj Pediatric Neurology
You can start by neuropsychological evaluation and therapy (with a pediatric psychologist) who will be doing a reeducation. This works in some kids but if it doesn't you have to give medications.
The side effects of the drugs depends from medication to another but if you see the side effects of panadol for example(or any drug that we take daily) you will note that they are almost the same (abdominal pain, decreased appetit). My point is to weight the benefits of the medications to the side effects that we see rarely and that stop when we stop the medications.
I advise you to start by reeducation but if it doesn't work you need to help you child concentrate and give the medication. (there are different drugs and some have lesser side effects)
