In ADD as in ADHD you can start by neuropsychological evaluation and therapy (done by a pediatric psychologist) who will be doing a reeducation. This works in some kids but if it doesn't you have to give medications.
I advise you to start by reeducation but if it doesn't work you need to help your child concentrate and give the medication. (there are different drugs and some have lesser side effects)
