Got sick with a bad cough and dark mucus. Lost my voice as well. Took antibiotics clenil and histamed. Now feeling better. How long am i contagious? Have a 5-mnth old baby. Thanks
Dr. Hani Rifai, Otolaryngology (Ent) - Usually you are contagious for around 3 days. The cough after a cold can last up to 6 weeks

Tinnitus. I have a ringing noise in both my ears. Are there any solutions?
Dr. Hani Rifai, Otolaryngology (Ent) - Usually tinnitus or ringing in the ears is caused by hearing loss. Though no medication will remove it, it will go away with time. Still a complete ear exam and hearing test is preferred.

From time to time I feel dizzy and very tired durable and I need to sleep I am 57 years old and I have medication Concor 5mg.
Dr. Hani Rifai, Otolaryngology (Ent) - Concor can cause fatigue and on occasions dizziness. However other medical issues such as sleep apnea can cause same symptoms. Better check with your doctor.

Do fat burners cause insomnia?
Dr. Hani Rifai, Otolaryngology (Ent) - Some fat burners contain Pseudoephedrine and similar substances which can increase the heart rate and blood pressure and prevent sleep

Prospan syrup is treatment for cough?
Dr. Hani Rifai, Otolaryngology (Ent) - Prospan is a medication for cough. However, it is advised to avoid cough medication. In cases where cough is preventing sleep or is extreme then cough medicine is prescribed.

Cefalexin capsul antibiotic for cough?
Dr. Hani Rifai, Otolaryngology (Ent) - Cefalexin is an antibiotic. It is not a cough medicine. As always, it is preferable to be examined by a doctor before starting any antibiotic.

Is 37.5 degree normal as temperature for 1-year old kid?
Dr. Hani Rifai, Otolaryngology (Ent) - If the child is in a warm room or over dressed this might be the reason why he has a 37.5 temp. Watch him and make sure his activity and food consumption (milk, soft diet and water are normal)
