fluibron is AMBROXOL, a mucolytic, so it will not act directly on suppressing cough..
You should read the insert, it has detailed instructions on the dosage and duration of use. My advice to you is not to rely solely on this medication to help loosen the secretions. Drink plenty of fluids, and get exposed to water vapor my filling out the bathtub with hot water then going into the bathroom for about 15 minutes. If you still have questions I'd be happy to help.
