My baby is 20 days old.. last night he breasttfed 40 min and after an hour he cried so i gave him formula milk he drnk 100 ml ..the weird thing is that he didnt wake up at night till 7 am..why?
It does happen sometimes that babies suckle on their mothers' breasts without drawing enough milk, which can explain why your son was able to drink 100 mL of formula milk after having nursed for 40 minutes. He slept in one stretch because he was most probably full and tired from both suckling and digestion (formula milk is sort of "heavier" than breast milk and requires more time and effort by the body to be digested, which tires out the child). So you do not need to worry as long as this remains the exception rather than the rule.
