Your son has fever and cough. This could be viral as well as bacterial infection. Since he took a course of antibiotics, most likely he has bacterial pneumonia. If he still has fever I suggest that he will be reexamined to rull out any complications of pneumonia. If he doesn't have anymore fever but still has cough, it is an irritative cough that can persist 1 to 2 weeks after the infection has subsided. This is due to persistance of inflammation. I highly recommend that you review your doctor if the fever is persistant.
