- she has been drooling excessively
- she keep rubbing her gums (she keeps putting her hands in her mouth)
These behaviors, along with the refusal to eat or decreased appetite, may be signs of teething.
Also make sure her nose is not stuffed (use nasal saline drops followed by bulb suction about 1/2-1 hour prior to meals), as infants can only breathe through their noses and not through their mouths, so any blockage in the nose will make the infant unable to eat and swallow since they cannot breathe while feeding. Another possible factor that may negatively impact the child's appetite for milk is if she is already full on solid foods, a very common occurrence that parents notice upon introduction of solid foods to their babies' diet. So make sure you are not overfeeding your baby (please refer to previous answers regarding correct ways of feeding solids).
If all of the above does not fit into your baby's condition and she continues to refuse to feed, and starts developing signs of dehydration (decrease in number of wet diapers, poor physical activity, sleepiness most of the time), please have her pediatrician examine her in the clinic.
