Is it true that fasting can increase the testosterone level? If yes, how come?
Jul 12, 2013

Dr. Ghassan Nawfal Surgery
There isn't much convincing research on the subject. While it is true that intermittent fasting increases testosterone levels, prolonged fasting does not appear to have the same effect. The reason is that after a short period of fasting, any meal, however small it is, causes testosterone levels to drop compared to the pre-meal levels. More research is needed in that field.
