If mri showed at c3-c4 broad based disk protrusion is seen moderatlely impinging on ventral aspect of thecal sac and abutting on origin of left c4 nerve root, can this be the cause of whole body pain?
When the C3-C4 disc abuts the left C4 nerve root, the pain is usually present in the neck and does not go beyond the shoulders. Whole body pain cannot be explained by this MRI finding alone and there has to be another problem involved.
Whole body pain can be the result of generalized conditions like fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis and other conditions.
