I used elocom on my armpits to reduce heat rash, is it okay if I used it only once if I am pregnant (16 weeks)? I am scared it would affect baby, didn't know its cortisone!!!! Please help
Studies on rats and rabbits have shown teratogenic (serious deforming) side effects on their fetuses.
There are no adequate and well-controlled studies of teratogenic effects from topically applied corticosteroids in pregnant women. Therefore, topical corticosteroids should be used during pregnancy only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus.
