I have 2 kids. so it's very common that i keep on going back and forth to the pediatric. are there home tests i can perform to diagnose common illnesses like the tonsillitis, ear infections, etc...?

Dr. Raffi Jil-Hagopian Otolaryngology (ENT)
Well honestly said no home tests are available to diagnose illnesses, and I don't advise you to do so, since an upper resporatory infection can progress into serious complications. So, its wise to get the professional doctor's check ups, even when you think that its a common cold(flu).
On the other hand, if your kid/s is having frequent nasal obstructions, then it might be related to adenoid gland hypertrophy(vegetation), or allergic rhinitis, which can lead to ear problems. Here an ENT specialist's opinion might be of benefit.

No home tests are available to diagnose common illnesses. Kids got sick many times during the year up to six times and they are in process of building immunity. So it is normal that they are going to catch many common illnesses, the best way to diagnose them is to be checked by their pediatrician
