A sore throat is due to tonsillitis and or pharangyntis. Which can be due to viral or bacterial. Viral is usually self resolving in 3 to 5 days. You just need to take lots of fluidsin addition paracrtamol and NSAIDs will help wuth the symptoms. As for bacterial tonsillitis you need antibiotics. You should be seen and examined by a physician to be able to differntiate between the two and receive the approproate therapy.
