How hereditary is colorectal cancer? And when should someone start getting check-ups if a direct relative suffers from it?

only 2 to 5% of colorectal cancers are hereditary, and it is usually, well known in those families, as they have many cases at young age . if you have many cases, but at elderly age, (more than 60-70 years old), we dont really pay that much attention . hemocult, (blood in stool examination) colonoscopy can be usueful for check up . the age to begin usually it depends on the youngest age of colorectal cancer in the family, and concerns usually can begin at teenage period, if such cases exists.
