I always suffered from Nodular Acne, Im on Accutane now- its my 4th month now,i never had severe acne just nodular-when will i stop getting acne?can i perform a surgery even if on accutane
A standard course of therapy is between 4 to 5 months.
And yes you can perform surgery even if you're on Accutane.
It would be wise to do some blood tests including SGPT (liver function) before the surgery.
Treatment of acne is based on the weight and type of the lesions. It is very frequently given for more than 4 or 5 months. It is a medical treatment to be given under supervision of a dermatologist so get back to your dermatologist and he will assess for how long you should take it especially that you have a nodular acne which is not a joke. Concerning surgeries, any surgery that is not necessary should not be done while taking Roaccutane.
