before starting to take medication, you need to know the reason for water retention which might be due to kidney problem, heart problem, liver problem. so befor deciding on taking a diuretics such as lasix i suggest you start with visiting your physician and do some blood tests( creatinine, electrolytes, liver function test, protein level...), urine analysis, and echocardiogram....
