Hello, i wish you could help me. I suffer from constant swallowing. I swallow all time every minute, its so annoying to me i dont know what to do. I need your help!!!
What you feel might be of a medical condition or might be from anxiety .
If this is a recent condition then it might be an infection in the mouth causing more salive and thus more frequent swallowing ,infection of the gum ,infection in the salivary glands ,or any infection in the mouth contribute to more saliva and then frequent swallowing ,if this is the problem check with a dentist or an ENT doctor to check for the problem .
There are other causes that might also contribute to frequent swallowing some are :
-Esophageal narrowing such as acid reflux or tumors.
-gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)
-sinus problems and allergies, which can cause the post-nasal drip
-anxiety can cause frequent swallowing and a tight throat, keep open minded about
-Infection, allergy, pollution, tobacco smoke and chemicals can change mucus's volume, pH and consistency. "This causes inflammation to the throat, leading to tightness and swelling and the need to swallow more frequently, thus causing discomfort
Disturbances of the brain such as those caused by Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis,..
Oral or pharynx muscle dysfunction such as from a stroke.
Loss of sphincter muscle relaxation (achalasia).
So to know the exact cause ofyou frequent swallowing it is important to visit a doctor for physical examination and tests and then treatment depending on the cause.
