Hello dr..is it necessary to give my baby (5 months) water?if yes how many times (amount) ...inaddition to milk im feeding him cerelac and half an apple daily
The cornerstone of your baby's diet is still milk (breast-milk or formula milk) until he's 12 months of age. You may start giving him a little bit of water since you've initiated solid food (although water intake is not really limited), around 30 ml 3-4 times per day. Avoid juices at this stage (even 100% fresh juice) for they may produce allergies. Kindly note that it is preferable to start with vegetables (salty) before fruits (sweet) because babies tend to reject salty food once they've gotten used to the sweet taste of fruits.
Milk alone is enough until 6 months of age when you start the food diversification. Water becomes important when introducing solid food like vegetables, fruits meat and cereals.
Since you have started introducing new food, you should propose water in small quantities to your child ( 30ml).
At first almost all babies refuse water because they are used to having milk, don't insist but remember to always offer water after each meal, knowing that at this age they cannot express themselves and ask for water.
when they are really thirsty they will start drinking water.

Annual Checkup
It is recommended that all individuals see a Family Doctor for a full medical examination annually. Adults should get their blood pressure checked (US Preventive Task Force), a flu vaccine (CDC) and more each year.
The American Dental Association recommends dental cleanings for adults at least twice annually. Some stains can only be removed by a professional cleaning.
It’s recommended by the American Academy of Ophthalmology that every adult between the ages of 18 and 80 does an eye examination at least once every two years.
It's recommended by the American Cancer Association that every adult between the age of 20 and 80 does an annual skin screening by a licensed dermatologist.
