the caracter of the baby is innate...even babies with few months of age have already a caracter. the personality with its different characteristics is aquired with time and there is no specific age that defined it because there are lots of factors that play a role: school, house ambiance,... to make the best of your child's personality you should always have in mind that you are the parents so you make the rules at home. Also it should be clear that there is time to study and time for entertainment... try to stimulate your kid with educational stuff and also encourage sports, music (as these gives them more confidence)... if you have more specific questions let me know
