Dr. Jean Esso Anesthesiology
Sudeck's atrophy involves a disturbance in the nervous system. Often, there is pain, as well as swelling and disability, associated with skin temperature changes over the affected area. It may occur spontaneously (i.e. without any cause) but more commonly it follows trauma (fractures, muscle strains, nerve or soft tissue injuries). The mainstay of treatment includes exercise and physiotherapy. Mobility is essential. Use your affected limb!!
