If you do not want to take medications for acid reflux (heartburn) try to chew some sugar free gum or drink small quantities of fat free milk from time to time. Some lifestyle changes can also help reducing the symptoms such as not eating (3 hrs) before sleep and avoiding spicy and acid foods. Just remember that if your symptoms are frequent you should seek professional help to rule out underlying causes for reflux.
