Yes it's OK; the age that is critical when a baby develops fever is below 3 months, when their immune system is still very fragile and they have not received enough vaccination to confer protection against serious infections. As long as your baby is feeding well, is active, playful, and passing a good amount of urine, you can wait for 48 hours before seeing his pediatrician - but you certainly have to have him examined sooner or later. If however you notice any of the alarming sings I have listed in my previous answer, you should have him seen by a doctor without delay.
