Ibuprofen belongs to the family of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) which act by decreasing symptoms of inflammation. Unless you have a bleeding tendency due to platelet disease or deficiency in blood proteins that clot the blood (these are usually familial), or ulcers (in which case you'll need to be on meds to protect your stomach), you can safely administer ibuprofen during menses.
