If I waxed today, after how many hours can I go to beach? Is tanning okay? Is swimming okay (in pool or beach) directly after?

Dr. Nisrine Makarem Mahmoud Family Medicine
There is no definite time from waxing to swimming and tanning but usually it is advisable to wait for 24 hours. The reason for that is that waxing exposes the skin to irritation, skin burns, itching, raised skin bumps, and redness.
It doesn’t matter if you are planning on swimming in salt water versus chlorine because both should be avoided. The harsh chemicals in chlorine will irritate your skin and possibly cause red bumps or irritation that can sting or itch. Salt water can cause the same type of skin irritation so swimming in salt water won’t be any better.
