I woke up one morning having rash all over my face then after few days they started to come out. I went to the doc he gave me rioacuatain. how the medicine will work in my case

Rosacea is a chronic condition characterized by facial erythema (redness) and sometimes pimples.Rosacea affects all ages and has four subtypes, three affecting the skin and the fourth affecting the eyes . Left untreated it worsens over time.

Usually the sudden appearance of a widespread blotchy rash is quite common. It is often due to a viral infection .allergy ,acne ,rosacea ,certain medication used ,...

It is the other symptoms that may be of more concern. If other symptoms are mild then there is usually little to worry about. But if more severe then treatment should be aimed at the other symptoms and the cause .

Since you had rash which develops to pimples and postule and after the doctor examination and the given prescription ,then probably the diagnose was rosacea.

As a treatment plan for rosacea ,
first step is by addressing the lifestyle issues that trigger it. Rosacea skin is extremely reactive to sunlight and should be protected with a non-oily, very high factor sun screen.

Other preventive measures may include cutting down on coffee, alcohol and spicy food. Initial drug intervention will usually consist of a low-dose course of antibiotics, often doxycycline.

Tablets can be combined with topical antibiotic treatments containing metronidazol and azelaic acid, which also reduce inflammation.

However, while these antibiotics suppress the rosacea, it can return when the course is finished
>>A low dose of Roaccutane, or isotretinoin, is effective when the rosacea is developed to pimple and postules and the above treatments are not so effective ,then the doctor may prescribe it for these reasons :
>preventing hyper keratinisation
> slowing down sebum production
>and also serving as an anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial.

While on other treatments the effect might be temporarily ,the effects with roacutane last for many years and in some cases are permanent.

it is recommended when on roaccutane commit an interval consultations to undergo blood tests (to check liver function) and a urine test (for pregnancy, since roaccutane is strongly contra-indicated for pregnancy).

Roaccutane has been one of the most commonly prescribed medications for severe acne that forms nodules and cysts. Basically a super-charged version of vitamin A, Accutane causes the skin to grow so rapidly that it opens up naturally over cysts and nodules, allowing them to drain without lancing or surgery.

However , in the last few years the doctors have started prescribing Accutane for rosacea.

it can fight the inflammation that causes rosacea,different kinds of acne treatments have different effects in rosacea.

Antibiotics, benzoyl peroxide, and Retin-A are used to treat “permanent” features of rosacea, such as papules, pustules, and broken blood vessels. Face washes are used to treat “temporary” features of rosacea, such as inflammation.
