Dr. Rania Mousa General Medicine
it is important to look when buying an omega 3 supplement for the EPA and DHA labeling ,but when reading your lab results you haven't that much high triglyceride ,your high triglyceride could be lowered best by exercise and diet and losing weight .2 g of omega 3 is sufficient and there is not a rule how much is effective to lower this and that ,the issue is that when buying omega3 to look at how much fish oil is present DHA and EPA these are the important componants in the capsule to lower the bad cholesterol LDL and increase the good cholesterol HDL,so if the sum of DHA & EPA is low you will have to take more capsules of omega 3 even if it is 2 g
i mean for example if omega 3 2 g contains EPAand DHA 600 mg then it is not sufficient while if the sum is around 1000 -1400 mg that will be better even that both omega3 2g
