Which is healthier, a diet that is high in fat and low in carbs or a diet that is low in fat and high in carbs?
Apr 15, 2015

Dr. Zakia Dimassi Pediatrics
Neither - and of course the particular characteristics (for example, if you exercise regularly, the trend of your weight over the years etc.) and risk factors (such as family history of lipid problems, your waist circumference etc.) of each person have to be taken into account in choosing the best diet for that person, keeping in mind that a high-fat diet is associated with the risk of cardiovascular disease, and a high-carb diet runs the risk of developing diabetes (which has cardiovascular disease as complication).
