Dr. Jihad Achkar Otolaryngology (ENT)
Ringing in the ears (Tinnitus) is a common problem and sometimes associated with increase in blood pressure (sounds like heart beats in that case). However, if her blood pressure is controlled now and she still suffers from tinnitus, she needs to have an audiogram (hearing test) done, as a first step. Mild hearing loss presents as tinnitus occasionally. Other times, causes of tinnitus remain undetermined unfortunately, and patients will have to learn to live with it.
