Dr. Rania Mousa General Medicine
There are several complications following a hernia surgery
1.Recurrent hernia
2.Chronic pain
3.Ischemic orchitis
4.Infection
Pain following hernia surgery is common but should subside within an expected time interval of about two months. For many patients, some degree of pain persists, and some patients develop moderate to severe pain that can be disabling or interfere with sexual function. A presumptive diagnosis of post-herniorrhaphy neuralgia can be made when pain persists for more than three months following hernia repair, and is not related to other causes.
hernia post-operative chronic pain syndrome occur due to:
mesh shrinkage,inflamation,scarification,and surgical tecnique.
my advice is you must be evaluated again by the doctor for this pain ,it can be in order to examin you and order imaging to exclude occult recurrence and to plan managements if the case is chronic pain following the surgery.
