My boyfriend is diabetic and I want to know if we get married, is there a possibility that our children will not be diabetic?

- Diabetes has a genetic component but it is different between type 1 and type 2, and children of diabetics, although at higher risk, don't have to develop diabetes for sure.

His glucose is controlled but he hasn't started insulin treatment. He recently discovered he has diabetes & is eating 3 healthy meals/day (no sugar).
