What if he's already infected. No point in doing the vaccine right?
Jul 31, 2014

Dr. Zakia Dimassi Pediatrics
You still need to receive the full HPV vaccine series which will confer protection against getting the infection from an infected partner, wwhether your current partner or a different partner in the future, because not all infected people will have warts - some may carry the virus with no symptoms whatsoever. Of course if your partner has warts, it is not advisable that you have intercourse before he gets proper treatment because you'll almost certainly acquire the virus from him.

even if he is infected, you should do the vaccine, as it will protect you from other strain of HPV, and from re-infection from the same strain -if you do got the infection-
