What are the normal values of acceptable total cholesterol for people under 40 years old?
Jan 7, 2013

Dr. Fadi Abbas Oncology & Hematology
Cholesterol is managed with other cardiovascular risk factors (sugar disease, obesity, heart diseases, contraceptive pills, smoking, etc) . By itself, it is not enough to prevent myocardial infarctions and cerebrovascular accidents.
if there are no other cardiovascular risk factos, the cholesterol level acceptable value is a bit higher . Although the recommendation is to have LDL less than 100, and HDL more than 35 (the American) , but French school is a bit more reluctant about it .
