My urine is of dark yellow colour for the past week, is this something to be worried about?
Jan 23, 2013

Dr. Ibrahim Jour Urology
Dark urine can be caused by dehydration which leads to a concentrated urine, some food (such as fava beans), medications as well as certain disease states such as urinary tract infection or certain liver conditions.
To differentiate between the different causative factors, symptoms shall be assessed (whether urinary symptoms as painful urination, any abdominal discomfort or back pain and a change in the stool color along with yellow sclera).
This is a sign of which the solution can be as simple as increasing water intake but it shall be well assessed and not neglected.
