Is it normal to have chest pain every now and then? The pain feels like something hardens inside, like I'm about to have a heart attack.

Dr. Zakia Dimassi Pediatrics
Chest pain can be due to a wide number of causes, starting from cardiac, to pulmonary (lungs), gastrointestinal, muscular, and psychological. In order to properly determine the source of your chest pain, keeping in mind that there's a common nerve going through that area and the pains from all the above mentioned causes can be quite similar to one another, the characteristics of the pain, including:
1. duration
2. frequency
3. location
4. radiation (if it extends somewhere)
5. nature (dull, sharp, pricking...)
6. factors that precipitate or increase it (like with deep breath, with certain body movements, with bloating, with stress...)
7. factors that improve/relieve it, any associated symptoms (like shortness of breath, sweating, nausea/vomiting, local tenderness i.e. pain upon pressing the are) must be looked into.

I advise you to think of the above and be seen by a physician for proper evaluation and management.
