I use concor 5mg for my hypertension and take Troken. I had a chest pain and a high hypertension early this morning. At the hospital they put a patch to lower it. Should I change my medicine? What if
Troken or clopidogrel is a blood thinner, and is used to prevent blood clots , and decrease the risk of cardiac problems, and it does not have an effect on blood pressure.
Concor or bisoprolol belongs to a class of medications called beta-blockers. It is used to lower blood pressure , and is proven to reduce risk in patients with heart problems. So it is a very good medication for you and I don't think you should change it. However, many times, a person requires more than one drug, sometimes 2, sometimes 3 , to control the blood pressure.
A patch is sometimes used to lower the blood pressure, but it is not recommended for daily use, unless needed, for example for some patients who have chest pain or angina, secondary to disease of the vessels of the heart.
I recommend that you see your doctor, either your cardiologist or nephrologist ( who are also specialized in high blood pressure), so that proper adjustment to your medication is done, according to your blood pressure at home, and if needed, on 24 hour blood pressure monitor.
Most likely another medication , in addition to concor will be added.
Another important thing I think you should do, if not done yet, is to see your cardiologist to evaluate the chest pain you had this morning.

The American Dental Association recommends dental cleanings for adults at least twice annually. Some stains can only be removed by a professional cleaning.
It’s recommended by the American Academy of Ophthalmology that every adult between the ages of 18 and 80 does an eye examination at least once every two years.
It's recommended by the American Cancer Association that every adult between the age of 20 and 80 does an annual skin screening by a licensed dermatologist.
