I had a rhinoplasty in October. Swelling is still visible. I accidentally hit it, put on some ice,is it still fragile? When I visit my doctor for flup, he presses on the swelling & it still hurts.
Post rhinoplasty, swelling may be due to a dead space or hematoma or exposure to heat or cold. We need to do a massage to the nose, avoid heat cold and trauma. An ENT consultation is needed.
Swelling after rhinoplasty is normal for almost a year especially if you had an open technique. Swelling will resolve spontaneously. As for the pain, distant from the surgery, this is uncommon. Your nose is considered solid 2 months after your surgery, if you were hit during that period you might experience a displacement if after this period you have to receive a fierce hit and break your nose. So be reassured and keep the follow up visits with your surgeon.
