Dr. Rania Mousa General Medicine
Itching, also called pruritus, commonly occurs due to skin disorders, and may affect sleep or quality of life if the condition is severe. Rooted in the nerve endings, itching all over the body is called generalized pruritus. This condition may serve as a clue to the presence of an underlying systemic disease,

However your problem might be a one problem underlying cause causing such all symptoms or the other possibility you have different causes for your symptoms with different underlying diseases .

>>GENERAL ITCHING can be caused by many conditions:

>stress, anxiety---Dry skin (xerosis) --sunburn ---
>metabolic and hormone disorders and other disease in the body (for examples, liver or kidney disease, hyperthyroidism, diabetes, shingles (herpes zoster), or multiple sclerosis.)
>cancers (for example, lymphoma)
> reactions to drugs
>interruptions in bile flow (cholestasis)
>diseases of the blood (for example, polycythemia vera).
> Itching is common with allergic reactions
>Infections and infestations of the skin are another cause of itch according to positions .
> a fungal infection of the crotch (tinea cruris) , psoriasis, and ringworm of the body (tinea corporis).
>parasitic infection resulting in itch is the so-called swimmer's itch,Itch may also result from skin infestation by body lice, including head lice and pubic lice.
Scabies is a highly contagious skin condition caused by an infestation by the itch mite and cause an intense itch that is particularly severe at night.

>>GENERAL MUSCLE PAIN may be due to:

-Certain drugs, including ACE inhibitors for lowering blood pressure, cocaine, and statins for lowering cholesterol
-Dermatomyositis
-Electrolyte imbalances like too little potassium or calcium
-Fibromyalgia
-Infections, including influenza (the flu), Lyme disease, malaria, muscle abscess, polio, Rocky Mountain spotted fever, trichinosis (roundworm)
and others

>>IF BOTH SYMPTOMS RELATED beside abdominal pain and generalised fatigue then you may have an underlying cause affecting all this like :

>A parasite infection if you had other symptoms like diarrhea for example beside these

>Infection in your body and chronic diarrhea or vomiting may cause abdominal pain and dehydration causing fatigue and loss of minerals causing mineral imbalance which cause general itching

>Hyperthyroidism

>Hyperparathyroidism

Hyperparathyroidism occurs when an excess of parathyroid hormone in the blood impacts the levels of calcium in the body.

Primary hyperparathyroidism causes high levels of calcium, whereas secondary hyperparathyroidism causes low levels of calcium.

in both cases, the condition may cause itchy skin, as well as back pain, blurred vision, bone pain, depression, fatigue, bone fractures, loss of appetite, nausea and pain in the upper abdomen.

If calcium levels don't impact health, treatment may be unnecessary; however, in some cases surgery to remove the parathyroid gland may be indicated.

IN this case you must check your parathyroid gland and have a calcium level test

>Cholestasis refers to any condition in which blockage of bile from the liver occurs.
causes both inside and outside the liver, including :

bile duct or pancreatic tumors, cysts, pancreatitis, bile duct stones, alcoholic liver disease, lymphoma, tuberculosis or viral hepatits.

Skin itching happens as a result of cholestasis, as well as unusually colored stools or urine, nausea and vomiting, yellow skin or eyes, inability to digest some foods and upper abdomen pain. Treatment of underlying conditions is necessary to manage cholestasis.
>tumors

SO ,as you see your symptoms might be a possibility for many diseases related to each other or unrelated to each other .

THEREFORE ,YOU MUST GO CHECK WITH an internal medicine doctor so you had a thorough out exam and several tests guiding to the probable cause for proper diagnose and thus proper treatment is held .
