EllaOne is an emergency contraceptive pill, the main ingredient of which is ulipristal acetate, 30 mg. This is a progesterone receptor modulator (progesterone is the primary hormone of pregnancy). This drug is supposed to be effective for up to 120 hours (around 5 days) after an unprotected sexual encounter. It works by preventing a fertilized egg (an egg which has encountered and fused with a sperm) from implanting into the uterus, but it has no influence on a fertilized egg that has already implanted into the wall of the uterus. So theoretically, it is expected to be effective in your case scenario. In case of doubt (your coming menstrual period gets delayed), take a pregnancy test.
