I get mouth ulcers a lot so my doctor prescribed me Colchicine to take it everytime I get an ulcer. Everytime I take it I get severe diarrhea. This is the 3rd time. Is it normal? Any alternative med?
Yes, colchicine does cause diarrhea, it is one of the side effects of the drug especially when used in very high doses. You should refer back to your treating physician regarding this issue, he/she may reduce the dose or instruct you to skip it is possible in the event of severe diarrhea.
