I did gastric bypass surgery 10 months ago, the iron that i am taking is causing nosea and my ferritine is 13 but i do not have anemia, a pharmacist advised that i take INOFERT sachets with vit C.
If your surgeon prescribed Iron following your Gastric Bypass surgery and you are having difficulty taking it by mouth you can ask him about the possibility of having intravenous iron (Venofer) instead. This is given in 3 sessions of around 1/2 hour each and lasts for a longer time.
