I am wondering if there is any supplements that helps to heal disc fissures and strengthen a lumbar disc after therapy for a disc herniation.Does glucosamine,chondrotine or collagen supplements helps?
I dont think these supplements have any place in the treatment of disc herniation. In most cases, disc herniation pain will improve with anti-inflammatory drugs while continuing normal activity.
Sometimes, morphine-like medications appear helpful in case of function-limiting pain.
In specific cases, epidural steroid injection is recommended.
