I am going to start taking isotronin (roacutane) in couple of days for 4 months prescribed from the doctor, but I workout and take whey protein shakes, I was wondering if thats okay .
NO, not to be taken beside whey protein ,
well you can tell many are taking it beside roaccutane but they are causing more side effects of the medicine in combination with whey proteins .
so you may have a risk or side effects without even having any other medicine ,taking it with whey proteins increase the risk more
usually precautions are held when taking this medicine one of it is :
not to take vitamin A or any vitamin supplement containing vitamin A while taking this medicine, unless otherwise directed by your doctor. To do so may increase the chance of side effects.
Most protein shakes have Vitamin-A which you don't need as accutane already has Vitamin-A. Check the back of the protein shakes and see if it contains Vitamin-A. If it does, do not buy it. It will do more damage than good.
another cause is that one of the side effects of roaccutane is increase in liver enzymes ,and protein shakes in itself also overloaded with proteins may affect the liver hence having more load on your liver and causing more side effects and harm .
switch on normal proteins ,and please read the label of the medicine carefully ,to know the precautions while on roaccutane
