Imiquimod is an immune enhancer that acts locally by stimulating hte production of inflammatory compounds that will fight against the virus that causes warts, the human papilloma virus (HPV). Imiquimod cream should be applied once daily at bedtime, three times a week for up to 16 weeks. For better results, the treated area should be washed with soap and water 6–10 hours after the application.
