A full evaluation is indeed urgent, including:
-complete blood count;
-thyroid function tests to check for increased thyroid hormones which result in fast heart beats and tremors, among other things;
-a full lipid profile to rule out high cholesterol that could predispose to cardiovascular problems, especially that you have a positive family history of heart disease (your father);
-urine analysis to check if there are any proteins in it, which means the kidneys are not reabsorbing proteins and not working properly, which may in turn cause an increase in blood pressure and thus headaches happen;
-a heart tracing "ECG" to make sure there are no extra beats plus a heart ultrasound to rule out any increase in the heart muscle size "hypertrophy" which is usually due to pumping blood against a high pressure in the blood vessels).
If there is documented hypertension (blood pressure exceeding 130/80 in 3 different occasions) or paroxysmal hypertension (episodes of very high blood pressure alternating with periods of almost normal blood pressure), checking for adrenal gland function through specialized urine tests is also needed.
If the results turn out to be normal, brain imaging (CT or MRI, +/- arteriography/venography) should be done.
