No, weight gain does not produce epistaxis (nose bleeds). It could be due to excessive dryness of the nasal mucosa (the inner lining of the nose) as a result of the cold weather (which causes the already dry mucosa to easily crack, hence the bleeding). This is one likely explanation. But you still need to be evaluated by a physician to rule out other possibilities.
