Can we consider balanitis a dangerous infection for the partner during sex or even for oral sex ? and plz advice for the unpleasant odour cz we know soap and shampoos could be risky on it! thank you
depending on the cause balanitis could infect your partner too ,if the cause is candida fungal infection,or if it is because of STDs ,or bacterial infection as it affects you it will affect your partner too ,balanitis for that usually the partner is screened too to be offered the necessary treatment too .On the other hand infection in your partner could be the cause of your balanitis so on the two hands the partner should be tested .and if not treated then you will be moving in empty circle where no cure
note candida can be transferred to you partner even in oral sex and appear as a thrush (fungal infection in the mouth)
If the cause is due to fungus infection the most common cause :
there are different anti fungal ointments that can be applied on the head of the penis two times in a day. Before applying the ointment, clean the area with warm water and dry it with a clean cloth.
After urinating, dry the wet surface on the head of the penis, before you slide the foreskin.
Use lubricating condom instead of latex condom to prevent latex allergy if you are known to have latex allergy and to prevent infection to your partner
if the infection is sever systemic antifungal is given beside other treatments
you can use antiseptic wash for the odor
