What you did is wrong, you shouldnt take antibiotics right and left because antibiotics can be very harmful, before starting any antibiotics you should take throat culture to test whether it is bacterial or viral infection and since you didnt improve after taking antibiotics then it is most probably a viral etiology and does not need anything just lots of fluid and supportive care
