Are there any tests (like mammograms) women should do before they reach the 35-40 age range?
Jan 13, 2013

Dr. Michael Khoury Surgery
Mammography is a screening material for breast diseases espacially tumors ( cancer) it is indicated Q 1 year after the age of 40. Before this age it is indicated for suspicious mass during a routine exam (self examination). In low aged females because of the density of breast tissue mammography might be unsufficient, for this reason breast echography must be done in addition to mammography for an accurate result.

Dr. Faek Jamali Surgery
For women with an average risk of breast cancer (no immediate family members such as mother or sister with breast cancer at an early age), no tests are needed before the age of 35.
Breast self-examination is healthy and should be practiced on a monthly basis in the shower after the period.
